So it was really disappointing to have to cancel our 2017 Christmas concert due to bad weather. Wouldn't you know it, we probably only had 2 days of snow all year, and it happened to co-incide with our concert ! Still, never mind, with a lovely programme rehearsed and ready to go, we are well ahead with planning for this Christmas !!
So now to the New Year. Our next concert, inspired by the 65th anniversary of the Queen's Coronation, will feature a complete line up of British composers. We have brilliant guest brass & percussion players, and we are once again joined by our great friend - organist, Peter Cook.
The programme will include some wonderful Rutter - the Te Deum, and Gloria, and of course will feature music from the Coronation - Parry's I was Glad, Vaughan William's Old Hundredth (All people that on Earth do Dwell) and his specially composed motet - O Taste & See.
We're really enjoying rehearsing some rousing music and looking forward to getting together with our instrumentalists
It promises to be a fantastic evening !
