Passiontide Concert April 2017, 26th January

Go back

programme

What a wonderful evening of music we experienced on Saturday - I'm sure Mozart & Haydn would have been thrilled to know that a little Welsh town choral society could still do their music justice in 2017!

Boosted by the presence of professional soloists, and a wonderful orchestra led by Paula Kempton, the choir really did rise to the occasion and maybe it was one of our best performances in recent years. And it was a pleasure to welcome 4 young Yr 9 singers from Graham's school who thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Special mention must be made to our last minute stand in soloist - Cameron Mitchell, who sang the tenor part with just a couple of days notice - he, just like Alison, Helen & Louis, sang beautifully and it was a privilege to hear them all perform.

It may take us a while to come down from this one !

We had such lovely feedback including the following comment from Chepstow's Deputy Mayor Marc Le Peltier :

On behalf of myself and my wife can we thank you for last night performance, which was simply sublime.

I can't tell you how impressed we were and how much we enjoyed it and I'm delighted I could represent the council.

We both look forward to returning to future performances as avid supporters.

Please pass my thanks on to all.

Best regards

Marc and Julie Le Peltier
