Summer Concert July 2018, 20th May

Programme

This has got to be one of the most happy & fun concerts we have performed in a while !

Being American Independence Day and also the centenary of the birth of Leonard Bernstein, we absolutely had to perform a medley of popular American songs (beautifully arranged by Richard Kubiak) and some best bits of Westside story.

We were particularly happy to welcome talented violinist Billy Wildefield, just 14, who played along with the Tenors & Basses as they sang the beautiful "Tell My Father" . There was not a dry eye in the house.

The second half saw us take on G&S - Trial By Jury  - with special guest soloists from Bristol Gilbert & Sullivan society. What a hoot ! It's such a mad cap story, and members really got into character with the help of a few props we provided. From pompous jurymen to giggling bridesmaids (including one rather dodgy one with a beard !!) we had a great time in rehearsals and the final performance.

And it was all followed up by a fab buffet & social - so popular, there was not a sausage roll left by the end !!

Looking forward to next year already !
